A wonderful natural remedy for dry chapped skin is safflower oil. With safflower oil being less saturated then olive oil, safflower oil is healthy and will absorb into the skin. It contains essential fatty acids that can smooth the skin and help skin hold onto moisture better.

Safflower oil actually shares similarities with the naturally occurring lipid components of the human skin and it doesn't cause blocked pores, leading to breakout.

To apply safflower oil, simply pour it into your hands and apply to your body, head to toe. The best time to do this is directly after a warm bath or shower and while your skin is still damp. The only caveat here, and it's not so bad; you will need to put on old pajamas and socks to keep the oil from staining your sheets.
